Environmental Crime Journalism Fellowship

From May 24th to 26th, 2022, eleven journalists representing diverse media outlets in Lusaka, Katete, Chipata, and Mambwe embarked on a unique learning opportunity. They delved into the realm of conservation activities thriving in South Luangwa, uncovering the efforts of various organizations driving these initiatives. Equipped with newfound insights, the journalists gained a deeper understanding of intricate conservation issues such as poaching, encroachment, and human-wildlife conflict. Additionally, the visit facilitated connections between journalists and key conservation partners in the region, including Conservation South Luangwa, Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust, and the Zambian Carnivore Programme.
